| The Saxapahaw Dam is a 20 foot high spillway type dam. Portage is to the left bank about 100 yards before the dam tower. A small pier provided by a local scout troop leads to a gravel road, a paved road leading to the bridges below the dam. Put back in here. Above the dam is a small lake which would be very good for lap paddlers and explorers that prefer no current. | |
